The Right Angle by Andreea Paliu
The Right Angle by Andreea Paliu
Acrylic on canvas

Power is about perspective. No matter how strong or skilled or respected you think you are, there is and will always be someone better. Someone stronger, more skilled, more respected, more powerful. Just like how these pet-store fish may look big in their display tanks, like giants leaping in and out of colossal ocean waves, they’re still only palm-sized fish with a cool wallpaper behind them. Anyone and anything can be powerful if you see them from the right angle.  – Andreea Paliu

My painting is about how others power over people’s thoughts, almost like brainwashing, making you feel powerless. Art is often an escape from everything mental health wise – Hailee

This piece is to show how women should feel empowered and the impact on feeling not strong or “powerful” enough. – Anon. Artist behind ‘Empowerment’
